What are the Types of Child Sexual Predators?

Sexual

Many factors go into making sure that your children are safe against sexual predators. Knowing the steps to dissuade them, how they think, and even where they are is important information. It may or may not surprise you that there are different types of child sexual predators, just like different predators have different motivations. Child predators are groups of people with diverse psychological backgrounds, just like any other group of people, so it’s only natural that they wouldn’t only be one type of child predators.

Morally Indiscriminate Child Predators.

This type of predator is typically considered to be without conscience, acting without regard to any morals whatsoever. These predators usually engage in multiple types of abuse, not limited to sexual, and will target weak and vulnerable victims. Many of this type will act indiscriminately, to them it doesn’t matter if their victim is a stranger, acquaintance, or even a friend.

Repressed Child Predators.

This group is categorized as having poor coping skills and low self-esteem. In many cases, they will turn to abusing children when they are under stress. Typically this type will abuse their own children while turning to other children to coerce them into sexual activity.

Sadistic Child Predators.

Sadistic predators are the most dangerous, and the least common. This is the type to kidnap, torture, and kill their victims. They like to inflict pain both emotional and physical pain before killing the child. This is the riskiest type of behavior for the abuser because it’s so extreme in action it’s the most likely to get them caught which is why it’s the least common. This type of predator has the lowest number of victims on average.

Seducer Type Child Predators.

Typically, seducers court their victims for prolonged periods of time. In many cases, they can have multiple victims at once. Maybe from the same neighborhood, sports team, boy scout troop, or many other types of groups that have a lot of children involved.

Inadequate Child Predators.

Inadequate type child predators are the least likely to possess any normal social or behavioral traits. They are usually reclusive in nature and typically considered to be outcasts or misfits. This type prefers non-threatening victims.

Sexually Indiscriminate Predators.

The sexually indiscriminate predator behaves similarly to a sex addict. Their approach and targets may vary significantly, and because of this, they can be highly unpredictable. It’s typically considered to be unclear what their end goal is, but it is generally agreed that sexual variety is their goal.

Introverted Child Predators.

This type usually lacks interpersonal skills and can look a lot like the inadequate child predator type. They are well known for picking the least resistant victims, typically the youngest and most vulnerable are their targets. They may spend a good deal of time with children without touching the child sexually. They are very commonly known to touch themselves sexually while watching children, while they are dressing if possible, and are also known to expose themselves to children.

Protecting your Children is Important.

There are many types of predators in the world, and these are just a few archetypes that are commonly found among child predators. Knowing how these predators behave is an important step in creating a strategy to keep your children from being victimized.
